Rules and alerts

Tell Cheka what matters to your operation.

Every farm and every transporter works differently. Cheka does not force a fixed list of events on you. Combine places, vehicle types and sensor readings into your own rules. Cheka then finds the events, tags them and alerts the right people.

Places

Start with your map.

A zone is a place: a farm, a block, a packhouse, a cold store, a depot or a port. Rules use the zone type, so one rule works for all your packhouses.

  • Cheka finds places where your vehicles stop often and suggests them as zones.
  • Draw a zone on the map, or upload many at once from a GeoJSON file.
  • Make your own zone types.
Trip tags

Leave, enter, or both.

A trip gets a tag when a vehicle leaves a type of place, enters one, or does both. Limit a rule to a vehicle type and set which rule wins.

How tags fill the logbook

Truck leaves a farm and enters a packhouse

Tag Delivery

Tractor enters a block

Tag Field work

Bakkie leaves the farm

Tag Off farm for personal-use review

Sensor rules

Temperature, humidity and vibration.

Catch a value that stays out of range, or a value that changes too fast. Each rule can raise an alert, or only add an event to the logbook.

Vibration monitoring

Reefer stays too warm for too long

Alert reefer too warm

Reefer temperature jumps in a few minutes

Alert door probably open

Truck on a farm road rides rough

Rough road logged on the trip

Speed rules

Speed limits that fit the vehicle.

Use a fixed limit, or a margin over the speed limit of each road. Short peaks do not make alerts, so your team only sees real speeding.

Truck drives over the road limit

Alert speeding, with road and limit

Tractor drives too fast on a public road

Alert tractor speed

Cargo compliance

The right band for each product.

Set the temperature and humidity band for a load, with a grace time for loading. Cheka checks every trip and marks it compliant or excursion.

  • Ready-made bands for citrus, lemons, apples, tomatoes, avocados, stone fruit and table grapes, based on published postharvest guidelines.
  • Link a band to a trailer, or to a route, for example packhouse to port.
  • Change the band for one trip when the load was different.
Alerts

From rule to alert to evidence.

  1. A rule matches

Cheka checks new data against your rules as it arrives.

  2. An event is made

The event goes into the logbook with its type, time, place and value.

  3. An alert shows

For alert rules, the event shows on the map and in the alert list.

  4. You acknowledge it

Open the alert, see the value that broke the limit, and mark it as seen.
